NSITF's rehabilitation support goes beyond paying medical bills — through the Employees' Compensation Scheme, injured workers who suffer permanent incapacity are also supported through prosthetic fitting, functional training, and reintegration back into work and daily life.

Medical rehabilitation
Full coverage of ongoing medical care connected to the injury, beyond the initial treatment — whatever is reasonably necessary to relieve the effects of the injury over time.
Prosthetic and assistive devices
Where a workplace accident results in loss of a limb or other permanent physical impairment, NSITF provides prosthetic limbs and assistive devices — fitted and tailored to the individual's specific injury, not a one-size-fits-all provision.
Vocational retraining
Where an injury changes what kind of work someone can physically do, the scheme supports retraining so they can rebuild a livelihood rather than lose one entirely.
Return-to-work and reintegration support

NSITF's Prosthesis Provision Exercise, run through the Fund's Claims and Compensation department, follows a structured process for every beneficiary — not a one-time handout, but a process NSITF's own team monitors in cooperation with prosthesis providers and the beneficiary's employer.
The worker's injury and needs are evaluated in full.
Precise measurements are taken for the prosthetic device.
The prosthesis is custom-built to those measurements.
The device is fitted to the individual.
The beneficiary is trained in how to actually use the device in daily life.
A final check confirms the fitting and training were successful, and the case is formally closed with a discharge letter and warranty documentation.
NSITF has run multiple rounds of this programme. In one recent phase alone, 78 workers across the country who sustained permanent injuries — from lost limbs to other disabling workplace accidents — were assessed, fitted, trained, and discharged with working prosthetic devices. Beneficiaries have spoken publicly about regaining not just mobility, but confidence and a path back to earning a living, after periods of depression and uncertainty following their accidents.
